Pop Song - Path to the Perfect Road | Sheryl Steines

Pop Song – Path to the Perfect Road

Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that  leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will  blow
And when it's time, you'll know

Katy Perry – Firework

Books, songs, sentences words, made up of twenty-six letters. And every once and a while, the combination plus the music means something. Becomes an ah ha moment in your life. It hasn't been an easy journey to that of author. It's actually been mostly downs, with very few ups and I've contemplated quitting on more than one occasion.

When Firework by Katy Perry came out there was something in that concept of the closed-door leading you to the right one, finding the right path that you should follow. It stuck with me, inspired me and reminded me that I'm the only one who can open or close which ever door I choose. And only I can take that first step down the path.

Or maybe sometimes a song or a book or poem, whatever form the words are written in, leaves you with the feeling that anything is possible. Or you associate that song with a dream, a scene of somewhere you'd like to go. For me that's Set Fire to the Rain by Adele. Fire, in the rain, on a cliff in ancient England as Annie sets fire to the an arrowhead and shoots it through the demon.

Every time I hear that song, I see that image, tears well in my eyes and I believe that there's something in the story, in the series. It might just be the pop song, but it becomes something else when placed in our personal context.

What song makes you believe or gives you hope? What makes you sing into your hair brush with wild abandon? Do the words make you dream big? I have mine and I crank up the radio and sing.
